SHIHAN SHIGERU ISHINO
Shihan Shigeru Ishino was born in Japan in 1947 and began his martial arts instruction with Shinan Masayoshi Kori Hisataka in 1954 at the hombu dojo in Tokyo Japan.
He was promoted to SHODAN (First Degree Black Belt) in 1959 and currently holds the rank of NANADAN (7th Degree Black Belt).
He is a graduate of Nihon University in Tokyo Japan, and was All-Japan Shorinjiryu Karate Champion (1967) and Outstanding Karate Player of Japan (1968-1969).
In 1969, Shihan Ishino came to North America to assist Masayuki Kukan Hisataka, the son of Shinan Masayoshi Kori Hisataka, with the dojo operations in Quebec, Canada.
Shihan Ishino made his home in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and instructs at the Genbukan dojo today.
Shihan Ishino has carefully preserved the style and principles as taught to him by Shinan Kori Hisataka and maintains a traditional Japanese dojo.
The essence of the style is best summarized in the motto of Shorinjiryu Karatedo, ' Doku Ji Gyo Sei Ki ' ,
which translates to
' Spiritual Development of Individuality in Mind and Body '.
The Genbukan dojo in Montreal, Quebec is for everyone from age 7 to 70 years old who would like to learn Karate from an authentic Japanese Karate Instructor.
Shihan Ishino would also like to extend an invitation to all former students who trained with him in the 1970's and 1980's to come out and re-discover Karatedo.

Shihan Shigeru Ishino est né au Japon en 1947. Il commence son apprentissage des arts martiaux avec Shinan Masayoshi Kori Hisataka en 1954 au Hombu Dojo (Dojo principal) de Tokyo et reçoit le grade de SHODAN (ceinture noire premier dan) en 1959.
Shihan Ishino est présentement NANADAN (ceinture noire septième dan).
Diplômé de l’Université Nihon de Tokyo, il a été champion pan-japonais de karaté Shorinjiryu en 1967 et consacré Karatéka remarquable du Japon en 1968 et 1969.
En 1969, Shihan Ishino vient en Amérique du Nord prêter main-forte au fils de Shinan Masayoshi Kori Hisataka, Masayuki Kukan Hisataka, afin d’ouvrir et de développer des dojos au Québec.
Shihan Ishino réside à Montréal et enseigne au Dojo Genbukan. Il s’agit d’un dojo traditionnel dans lequel il préserve et transmet soigneusement le style et les principes qu’il a appris de Shinan Kori Hisataka.
Shihan Ishino a conservé le style et principes avec soin comme appris à lui par Shinan Kori Hisataka et maintient un dojo Japonais traditionnel.
Le Dojo Genbukan à Montréal, Québec a pour tout le monde d'âge 7 à 70 années qui aimerait apprendre le Karaté d'un Instructeur du Karaté Japonais authentique.
Shihan Ishino aimerait aussi étendre une invitation à tous les étudiants du fondateur qui ont formé avec lui dans les 1970 et 1980 pour sortir et ré - découvrez Karatedo.
